Amy Hanus called the Club meeting to order.  There was no Rotarian of the Day.  Amy led the invocation, led the Club in saying the Pledge of Allegiance, and led the recitation of the 4-Way Test.
 
 
Announcements
  • David Powell will be retiring on June 1st from Southern Tech and Dr. Eric Ward will be replacing him.
  • Please encourage local students to apply for Rotary scholarships.
 
Guest Speaker
Guest speakers today was Kevin Boatwright, the new City Manager.  He has been with the City of Ardmore for 22 years, first as the head of Parks and Rec, then the last 7 years as Asst. City Manager.  He spoke about future plans for the City of Ardmore and mentioned the addition of two new city commissioners representing NE and SW wards. Sales Taxes have remain steady throughout the pandemic with online sales taxes boosting physical sales. The Clubhouse open in fall 2020 and cost approximately $8 million.  The city is working on major development on Exit 29 with hopes of adding a gas station and other commercial properties. There is also a development on working with streets to formulate a plan to deal with storm watering and excessive flooding that happens around Ardmore.
