David Powell called the Club meeting to order.  Brian Stedman was the Rotarian of the Day.  Brian led the invocation and also led the Club in saying the Pledge of Allegiance and the recitation of the 4-Way Test.
 
Proposals
 
Rotary Board Meeting was held last week and there was discussion on use of club funds for Christmas Projects.  The following two proposal were recommended.
 
Christmas Project 1: Donate $2,500 to Take 2 to help with student needs as well as look into other ways the club can contribute to Take 2.
 
Christmas Project 2: Donate $2,500 to St. Philip’s Foster Christmas Program to sponsor the adoption of 35 foster children.
 
Motion made to approve the spending of funds to support both Christmas projects.

Announcements
 
  • RVSPs needed soon for Christmas Party.  Party is scheduled for December 11th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Goddard Center. Cost is $15 per person and will be added to your Rotary bill.  RSVP no later than December 9th.
  • Christmas Bell Ringing at Walmart scheduled for December 13th.  Sign Up to follow at upcoming meeting.
  • No Rotary meeting next week due to Thanksgiving holiday.  Also no Rotary meeting on December 12th.
  • Emmett Hudgins provided our monthly Rotarian Magazine report.
 
Guest Speaker
 
Guest speakers today was Jeremy Cowen from the Oklahoma Banker’s Association.  Jeremy is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a master’s degree in strategic communications. Jeremy spoke about social media and its importance to business and customer service. Jeremy showed this video about social media.
