President Brett Matherly called the meeting to order.  Alex Reedled the invocation. Rotarian of the Day, Marcus Cunningham, led the Club in the Pledge and the Four-Way Test.

Junior Rotarians
President Elect David Powell introduced our Junior Rotarians for the month of March.  They are Cooper Worsham, Emma Nightengale, Robert Joy, and Addeline Norton.
 
Speaker
ROD Marcus Cunningham introduced the speaker for the day. Christine Berney is the Vice President of Community Relations for the Oklahoma City Thunder.   Originally from California, Berney earned her B.A. in English from Oregon State University and her M.F.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Berney’s professional background includes public relations and community relations positions in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors. Before joining the Thunder, she served as the manager of public relations for the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber. Prior to that, she was the manager of community relations for Sonic Corporation. 
 
Christine presented a short promotional video for the Oklahoma City Thunder.  The Oklahoma City Thunder are have one of the top franchises in the NBA.  Their games are televised in over 200 countries.  They have the number 5 app, are in the top 7 in sales, and there are over 14,000 season ticket holders. 
 
Thunder Cares is the community engagement arm of the Thunder franchise.  During the 2017-18 school year the 79,776 Oklahoma students were helped by the Thunder’s matching grant on DonorsChoose.org.  610 Oklahoma Classrooms were funded and 227 Oklahoma schools were served.  The Rolling Thunder bus has given away more the 150,000 books to children.  The Thunder have helped non-profits all over Oklahoma. 
 
The Thunder have basketball camps every year and they have renovated and constructed basketball courts all across Oklahoma (including Ardmore).
