Rotarian of the Day, Ed Strate, introduced our speaker for the day.  Josh Gaskamp is the Technical Consultation Manager and Wildlife and Ranger Consultant for The Noble Foundation.  Josh has a Bachelor and Master of Science in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences from the Texas A&M University.  He serves in the producer relations program.  He joined the Noble Research Institute in 2007 after working as a hunting guide and gun-dog trainer on the King Ranch.  He has focused his efforts recently on the management of the feral hog population.  Josh spoke about various methods of reducing their population to prevent the devastating effects that the hogs have on farm and rangeland and on the native wildlife.  His research on drop-nets as a potential tool for feral hog control led him to develop the BoarBusterTM suspended corral trap.  This technology earned him an “Oklahoma Innovator of the Year” award in 2015.
