President Taylor Steele called the Club meeting to order.  Daniel Gibbs was the Rotarian of the day.  Emmett Hudgins led the invocation. Daniel led the Club in saying the Pledge of Allegiance and the recitation of the 4-Way Test.

  • Friday, December 10, 2021 is the date of the Rotary Bell Ringing at Walmart.
  • Happy Dollars, Darrell Scott for OSU’s win at Bedlam, Taylor Gregory for her four years as a Rotarian, Ken Bohannon for upcoming programs at the Goddard Center including “Bach to the Future” on December 17th and the Bolshoi Ballet Nutcracker on December 19, 2021.
 
Guest Speaker
Daniel Gibbs introduced guest speaker and Rotary member, J. Tyson Davis. Tyson is the Business Development Manager for CGA Architects.  He graduated from OSU with his Bachelor of Science in 1998. Tyson’s program explained the ad valorem tax system that supports public schools and other entities in Oklahoma.  Oklahoma’s property taxes are about the one half of the average (median) property taxes in the United States.  The taxes are the lowest in Cimarron County and the highest in Tulsa County. Tyson explained the breakdown in the millage that the schools collect and how the bond issues work.
